San Jose’s Cambrian Park Plaza Will Have 30 Granny Units Under Updated Development Plan

San Jose’s Cambrian Park Plaza could eventually be home to 30 houses with so-called granny units, under an updated plan to redevelop the 1950s-era shopping center. Each granny unit would include a combined living and sleeping area, a bathroom, a walk-in closet and a kitchenette, according to the updated proposal.

You may have heard the news, but the previous owner of the Cambrian Park Plaza, Weingarten Realty, was recently acquired by Kimco Realty Corp. Kimco has retained the team from Weingarten to continue to lead the revitalization of the Cambrian Park Plaza. This project is still moving forward and the new owner continues to fine tune their project by making a fourth submittal to the city earlier this morning.
